GRAMMY-WINNING ASLEEP AT THE WHEEL WAS LIVE IN CONCERT AT ROUND UP PAVILION HALL IN LA GRANGE IN NOVEMBER

Grammy-winning Western Swing standard bearers Asleep At the Wheel headlined a special show at Round Up Pavilion Hall in La Grange. The show, at one of Central Texas’ most venerable and historic dancehalls, was presented by Texas Dancehall Preservation, Inc., a non-profit organization working to preserving historic dancehalls across the state and building on the community, music and culture that are an integral part of these small-town Texas institutions.

“There wouldn’t be Texas music without our Texas dance halls…They’re like the Carnegie Hall of Western Swing and Texas Music!” says Ray Benson, bandleader for Asleep at the Wheel.

Round Up Fair Pavilion Hall, at the Fayette County Fairgrounds (250 W. Fairgrounds Rd. in La Grange) was built in 1925 and has served as a gathering spot for the community ever since. It’s an ideal setting in which to present the nine-time Grammy winners Asleep At the Wheel, who tour coast to coast, but still finds themselves most at home in dancehalls and honky-tonks across the Lone Star State. Asleep at the Wheel in Round Top
