Grown-ups won’t be the only ones collecting Western wear in Round Top this fall. Kids’ hats, boots, and vintage clothing have entered the chat.

Here’s where to find the best of the best for kids in Round Top this season:

After years of requests and welcoming her first child earlier this year, famed Nashville-based milliner Ashley Botts Willis is launching the A. Botts Willis Buckaroo Hat Club for kids at The Halles.

Botts will offer kids’ hat styles from her distinctive pink travel trailer, with premade versions starting at 19.5” head circumference for ages 3 – 4 years.

“Kids will be part of the design process,” explains Willis. “They can choose their hat for us to shape however they like, and trim it out with any trims they choose. We’ll also make a custom hat if we don’t have their size available in the color they want.”

Kids who join the club can choose between a “classic buckaroos” membership (traditional styles and colors) or a “fancy buckaroos” membership (non-traditional shapes and hand-dyed styles). A membership purchase includes discounts up to $100 each on three kids’ hats, which can be purchased at intervals up until the child is 18 years old.

Like the adult line, all kids’ hats are crafted with high quality rabbit and beaver fur, but in a lighter weight. Sweatbands on all kids’ hats are adjustable up to ½ inch to allow for growth. Parent pairings are offered, so mom or dad can buy a hat to match their mini. Parents will also receive $100 off the purchase of a matching custom topper.

Each kids’ hat purchase comes with a handmade, block printed hat backpack by Sapana for storage and a special badge of honor. Botts will also be bringing a sampling of vintage children’s clothing, toys and accessories to the fall antique show.

Teressa Foglia is also offering kids hat making, crafts, live illustrations and other child-centered activities during Kids Day on October 24 from 1- 4 pm at the Teressa Foglia store at The Horseshoe. Live music by The Pendulum Hearts.

Once your child has their custom hat squared away, skip over to Henkel Square to select a pair of boots from Kemo Sabe’s new kids’ boot collection. A variety of styles and colors are available in quality leathers and colorful shaft designs. Sizes range from infant and up.

Austin-based Lauren Owen of Texas is also offering a tightly curated selection of children’s vintage Western wear, including cotton denim, fringe jackets, hats and leather boots. Find their Texa-Kid collection at the Marburger Farm Antiques Show this fall from October 27 – 31 in Tent 5-D2.
