Southern all-stars: Don’t miss the scrumptious onion rings served by JW’s Steakhouse in Carmine. Around the corner of the building you’ll find The Village Market, home of savory breakfast tacos and sweet breakfast treats.

Year-round antiquities: Luckily, antiques lovers and avid junkers can shop all year long in quaint Carmine. Some favorites include McCall Style, Unique Antiques and Carmine Trading Post. Keep an eye out for the fantastic glass artist who goes by the name “The Glass Anvil.”

Show some support: The annual Firemen’s Feast and fundraiser is in July. Enjoy fried chicken and barbecue sausage and participate in the live auction and gun raffle. Also, bring the kids to jump around in the bounce house and stay for the evening dance at the Carmine Hall.

Bounce on over: Carmine is the home of the Texas Basketball Museum, which features the rich history of Texas High School Basketball from across the state—and a side court to shoot some hoops.

Almost everyone has a things to do list. While grocery shopping and picking up the laundry are undeniably necessary, they’re not nearly as fun as exploring the Roundtopolis.
