The Gathering at Round Top, Part Two (limited seats available)

For several years, Tara Royer Steele, whose family owns Royers Round Top Cafe, felt like she wasn’t getting to see all her pals who made the pilgrimage to Round Top during the twice-yearly antiques shows.

“We all say, we need to get together, let’s do something, let’s meet up—and then we don’t,” she said. “Last year we did something about that.”

The first iteration, held outside Tara and Rick Steele’s Pie Haven on Henkel Square, was a success. More than 100 participants, mostly women, gathered to visit, eat, pray and make good on “gathering.” So Steele, with help from Randi Hamlyn of One Fine Day Mercantile, has laid the groundwork for the second edition.

Set for Sept. 22, again outside the Pie Haven (a weather backup plan is in the works), the event begins at 6:30 p.m. but Steele suggests getting there by 6. The Gathering at Round Top tickets here.

Designer Holly Mathis attended last year’s Gathering and said,  “To see God give birth to something in Tara’s heart for an event like this and watch her be faithful and step out in faith and DO IT, was amazing!” Read Holly’s blog on The Gathering to get her full impression. Steele describes the evening as a “God event, a Jesus event—and an excuse to have a party with dreamers, makers, sisters….”

Speakers include: Debbie Forrest Byrd, who will lead praise and worship; Susan Hickey with Lolli & Dauts; Tiffany Eckhardt with Flown the Coop; Suzanne Sexton with Rusted Gingham Barn Sale; Melissa Roper Newbould with The Bake Shoppe & Cafe; and Elizabeth Tooley with Just a Girl.
