Jessica Robertson, one of the stars of A&E’s Duck Dynasty television show, signed copies of the book she co-authored with her husband Jep: The Good, The Bad and The Grace of God. The book signing was at the Junk Gypsy World Headquarters in Round Top.
Jessica was kind to call and give us a preview of her book and her Round Top plans. Lorie, Shannon and I were having lunch at the popup Farmhouse Cafe…we’d just ordered an apricot fried pie with three spoons. They ate while I visited with Jessica.
Jessica, who is on a return trip to Round Top, said this book showcases hers and Jep’s marriage — and that it’s often been a challenge.
“People may assume there is never any trouble,” Jessica said. “Our message is that are are just like everyone else. We want to encourage people to stay persistent. Don’t give up. Keep fighting FOR each other not AGAINST each other.
“Keep the faith. Become stronger through it,” she said.
The book was published in July 2015 and will be available at Junk Gypsy on Saturday.
Jessica says she will be shopping during her visit, and named several of her favorite items that she has purchased in Round Top. Bee prints — because she is now a beekeeper. Frames…she said she often has to ship stuff home.
Jessica’s book signing is the last hosted by Amie Sikes and Jolie Sikes. They also welcomed Jen and Brandon Hatmaker, Joanne Palmisano, The Crockin’ Girls, Melanie Shankle and Susan Ebert to the store.
