With less than two weeks till the Fall issue of the Round Top Register goes to press, why oh why am I in Las Vegas? Clearly, there is a Las Vegas Round Top connection. (See our Facebook Live post here.
As a guest of RTR advertiser Las Vegas Market and Pam Williams and Esther Anto, this trip was a front-row view of Round Top’s reach. Not only were Round Top Register advertisers, Arbor International Antiques & Interior Design Show, Antiques & Interiors, E. Blome Design, Pure West & Pure Vintage, and Distinguished Transport in attendance, we saw a number of others who either set up at Round Top or are intrigued by the antiques shows.
The International Market Centers in Las Vegas, which produces shows in High Point, N.C., as well as Las Vegas, came upon our radar in 2015, when they began advertising with us. (This story is in partnership with Las Vegas Markets.) At that time, plans were developing for what has become the Discoveries show as part of the summer Las Vegas Market. (The center encompasses 5.5 million square feet and attracts wholesale buyers in the home, design and gift markets.)
The show, which runs through Wednesday, offers a cross-section of antiques, antiquities, repurposed, recycled and unique items — including clothing and jewelry.
Distinguished Transport’s Justin, Katie and Derek were set up in a huge space offering shipping services to begin immediately to all points across the country. (Check out the video pasted above.) John Aspley of Antiques & Interiors said it took his team 9 hours to set up. (We also met Elizabeth Blome, who will be at Arbors for the first time, with her crosses; Susan Wheeler, who has been part of the Marburger Farm Antique Show for a number of years and will also set up in Ex-Cess II this fall, Blue Ocean Traders, and could not miss the eye-catching presentation of Spellbound/Rodeo Royalty.
So if you have wondered if Round Top is on the radar, Vegas confirms it is.
